My Friday Fail!

Last week I had two fails to show off and Nikki was closing on her house, and couldn’t have a party! Well, she’s ready to party now, so bring your craft fails and let’s party at Nikki’s Fail Friday! I only have one fail to share though, ‘cause I fixed the other one! I reworked my original plan and got my solar light to work!

While we were at Tybee Island, found a lot of lovely crushed shell105_1394

and thought it would look oh so good all glued to the outside of a flower pot. I even got started while I was down there. First I found a Dollar Tree close and bought a small flower pot. Then I coated it in Aleenes Clear Tacky glue 105_1291

and rolled it in sand. 105_1293

When that dried, I put more glue on and rolled and pressed on some of the crushed coquina shells. 105_1395

It looked good when I finished if I do say so myself. 105_1397

When I got home and caught up with other things around here, I repotted two of my spider plants and put one in the beachy pot for my bathroom. I gave it a nice drink of water and set it on the sink. I came in later to find that all that pretty shell was on a downward slide!110_6904

I guess Aleene’s isn’t water proof…I don’t know, I didn’t read, but it sure doesn’t look like it! My spider plant looked happier in it’s old crowded home too! :-( So there you have it, my Friday Fail!

Finding out you’ve been featured is a great way to end the week! Colleen over at

We are headed out to the 9 yo Dizzy Dean All Stars for baseball…it’s gonna be a hot one! If we do well, I may be MIA from blog land til Monday!
Have an awesome weekend!

  1. Shells require patience, they are such an impossible medium to work with. It's not a project you can knock out quickly! I want a fabulous gaudy spray-painted-silver seashell frame for my vintage (already?) Italian "Little Mermaid" poster but I dunno if I'll have the patience to make a good one. Thanks for sharing your Friday Fail. We've all been there...

  2. Tee hee hee...love the idea of the pot, but I must say, I HATE tacky glue!!!!! I've never had good luck with it. I see all these blogs with people using it and every time I've ever tried working with it, it turns out a disaster. Hope you're able to fix this one tho...cuz its a CUTE idea!!!!!!
