Frame must be displayed on a tabletop or you could add your own hanger to hang it on a wall.

It’s Time to Party!

Good Morning! It’s a lovely morning here in the North Georgia Mountains! A beautiful day for a garden party!! I’m glad you could make it. I’m very excited about this!! I love hostessing, but with a house under construction and living in our basement, I don’t have the opportunity to do it in real life! :-( 

I can’t wait to see all the fun projects that will be here! I’m afraid that I will be so inspired that my real garden will go neglected while I craft! :-) Please link up your summer, outdoor or garden ideas to share. Garden Party Update!

What a time to disappear for 3 days…right before the party! Well, I’m back and just in time! :-) I’ll give you the condensed version of the weekend. We took the boys to the Dizzy Dean All-Stars, 2 hours from home. Although they played hard, we lost. Since my daughter lives in that area, we picked up 2 of my grandsons and brought them home for the week.

Father’s Day was awesome! We had all but 2 of our children home…even that is a rare occasion, so I didn’t get near the computer! Yesterday, was a major “catch up” day and I’m still not caught up! This morning I figured that I had better make the time or it just wasn’t going to happen! So, here we go!

Tomorrow is the big party! I’m so excited!  If this is the first time that you have heard about my Garden Party, here are the details. The party begins at 9am eastern time tomorrow and ends at 9 pm Friday. Please bring a garden, outdoor or summer project to share via linky. Mingle by visiting some of the other projects shown, and make conversation by leaving a comment on the projects that you have found inspiring. There will be different giveaways each day. The details on those are here. It will be a fun and lively party! I am working on a couple of projects to share. This is one that I couldn’t wait to do or share! My daughter found these while we were at the thrift store last week.

She said “These are some cool skewers” and as I looked over, my heart started beating faster…I said “Yes they are. Do you want them?”  She replied “uh-uh, but I thought you might like’em.” ‘Nuff said! I grabbed them out of her hands, took them from her as she offered them and said “These will make awesome garden stakes!”

Even though the ceramic tops are pretty self explanatory, I wanted to dress them up a bit with their names. I thought that a small ceramic tile with their name in vinyl might work. I couldn’t find what I was seeing in my head and started to get discouraged until I found these at Home Depot:

They are awesome! Small glass tiles! They are glued to mesh to hold them together, but they peel up easily. I cut their names out in vinyl with my Craft Robo and stuck them on with Gorilla Super glue. EASY!

Here they are all ready to go out in the garden!

I’ll be bringing them to the party!

Things were still happening even though I was gone! I opened my email yesterday to find that my Dressed up Solar Light

 

made the top 10 over at the CSI Project for the Dollar Store Challenge!

And my DIY Gazing Ball,

(which I may have found a new stand for)…was featured by Ginger at Super Stinky Boys!

My Friday Fail!

Last week I had two fails to show off and Nikki was closing on her house, and couldn’t have a party! Well, she’s ready to party now, so bring your craft fails and let’s party at Nikki’s Fail Friday! I only have one fail to share though, ‘cause I fixed the other one! I reworked my original plan and got my solar light to work!

While we were at Tybee Island, found a lot of lovely crushed shell 

and thought it would look oh so good all glued to the outside of a flower pot. I even got started while I was down there. First I found a Dollar Tree close and bought a small flower pot. Then I coated it in Aleenes Clear Tacky glue

and rolled it in sand.  

When that dried, I put more glue on and rolled and pressed on some of the crushed coquina shells.

It looked good when I finished if I do say so myself.

When I got home and caught up with other things around here, I repotted two of my spider plants and put one in the beachy pot for my bathroom. I gave it a nice drink of water and set it on the sink. I came in later to find that all that pretty shell was on a downward slide!

I guess Aleene’s isn’t water proof…I don’t know, I didn’t read, but it sure doesn’t look like it! My spider plant looked happier in it’s old crowded home too! :-( So there you have it, my Friday Fail!
