Yesterday, my youngest daughter, 13 years old, had her braces put on.
It was an hour and a half trip one way, but well worth it! The orthodontist and staff are awesome, the new Damon System braces are amazing and then we had the opportunity to shop and shop and shop a little more…
We rolled in just in time to regroup and head back out to a baseball game. My 11 year old son’s team, won their second game of the season. It was a good, close game and they earned the win! They really needed the encouragement too! I barely caught my son touching home!
All that didn’t leave much time for crafting or posting, but I was thinking and planning! ;-) I’ve been thinking about a giveaway, and I thought about doing one with a chalk board made from these ceramic “white board” placques that I found at the thrift store a while back.
I wanted to be able to give chalk markers with it, so I was waiting til I could get to a Hobby Lobby. We are an hour and a half from any “real stores”. Yesterday was the day!!! I found these:
A set of four Bistro Chalk Board Markers, red, blue, black and white!
Then I finished these:
they got a coat of white gloss over the primer.
Then a marked off the area to paint with chalkboard paint.
Finally, I added a couple of spring vinyl decals.
I think it still needs something across the top though. So I’m thinking that the winner can tell me if they would like to have it say “Remember” or “Notes” or “Memos” or whatever will fit! LOL. I can even personalize it “Sharon’s” List with black vinyl lettering. You can choose your font too…as long as I can get it! :o)
And I’m ready for my very first giveaway! Since my birthday is sooo close (next Tuesday), I’m calling this my “Birthday Giveaway”! It’s my birthday and you can get a present! How’s that? :-)
We’ll do the usual…If you would like the opportunity to own a newly redesigned ceramic chalk board and a new set of chalk board markers, please leave a comment and you get one entry. Follow this blog and tell me in a separate comment or if you already follow tell me that. Thirdly, blog or post to Face Book about my give away and come back and leave a comment about that…so three chances to win! I’ll use the random number generator to chose the winner…I was able to figure out how to add numbers to my comments! I’ll do the “drawing” next Wednesday, May 19th around 9pm.
Let’s have some fun!
