GIVEAWAY! From Tina’s Tie Dye!!

****This Giveaway has ended!****
I hope everyone had a great Super Bowl weekend! We enjoyed a little sunshine here but  are expecting yet more snow this week. (Sunny, I may be heading your way soon! lol) Thank you all for the input on my commenting issues. I’m working on seeing exactly when it happens. It may be a sign in issue…but if that’s the case, why not just ask us to sign in???  It would would be faster and easier!!! Oh well…how about a fun giveaway?!?!?!
I am very excited to be hosting today’s giveaway from Tina’s Tie Dye! Tina is not only a fellow blogger, but a friend in real life! We attend the same homeschool co-op and she is as much fun and has as much energy there as she does on her blog! She’s an “awesome teacher” say my girls and I agree! I think that she’s super creative too and that is what makes her classes so much fun! ;-) So when not teaching at home or at co-op, what else does she do??? Tina tie dyes!!
tina dying 4x6 cleanedI asked Tina how she got started in such a unique and creative hobby and now business. Here is her answer.
“I began tie dying 10 years ago when my daughter received a tie dye kit for a gift.  I loved and and searched for more dyes.  At first I tie dyed gifts for family and friends.  Then people started to ask to buy my work.  WOW, was I surprised. I started out doing only custom work but have moved into doing craft shows and selling in stores.  I love what I do, so I spend a few weeks a year teaching tie dye classes.”
Tina shares her tie dye in many ways. Go to a birthday at Tina’s and the “party favors” are….you guessed it! Tie dye t-shirts! My boys think they are awesome! I had to pry my younger son’s off after almost a week so that I could wash it!  On that note, let me say that after a lot of wear by active boys, and many washings these t-shirts still look great!

This amazing Pink Heart shirt was designed by Tina for her friend DJ.

She has helped DJ raise funds for her Susan Koman 3 Day Walks in 2009, 2010, and 2011.  DJ walks to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. For every shirt sold Tina donates $5 to her fund raising efforts. Way to go Tina! This shirt is my favorite design! This year Tina is also going to be a crew member for the Washington, DC, Koman 3-Day walk in September 2011. You can find out more about what she’ll be doing here.
Her newest endeavors are teaching at the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association in May and in March 2012 at the John C. Campbell Folk School. The opportunity to teach in such a highly creative atmosphere with some of the best teachers in their creative field is quite an honor. Congratulations Tina!!
Soooo…What does Tina have for us? A beautiful, colorful and sturdy, hand dyed tote bag and matching bandana!
Bag with Bandana
The tote bag is a cotton canvas bag made from 100% natural, unbleached cotton.  The fabric weight is 10 ounce canvas duck and can easily hold 40 pounds.  The bag is made in Atlanta, Georgia, by The Cloth Bag Company and then hand dyed by Tina in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
. Cloth bag co label
The bag measures about 18" wide and 16" tall with a 6" bottom. It is lock stitch sewn so the edges won't ravel and has been washed and dried several times, so any shrinking to be done is done!  Every bag is an original and the bag pictured may not be the bag the winner receives.  It will be the same size, but Tina will pick an in stock bag with colors the winner likes best! The bandanna is a lightweight 100% cotton fabric. It is approximately 22 inches square and hemmed on all sides.
For your chance to own this one-of-a-kind bag, visit Tina’s Tie Dye and then come back and tell me which tie dyed creation is your favorite. For extra entries, share this on Facebook, your blog and or Tweet about this giveaway and leave a separate comment for each. The giveaway will be open until Tuesday, February 15th at 10pm.
Good Luck!

  2. I am lucky enough to have some great pieces of Tina's work. By far my favorite item is the scarf with the swirled colors. Every time I wear it people stop me to compliment the beautiful colors. And the pink hearts shirt is my go to shirt for the weekend. I've had mine for almost two years and it still looks great!

  3. I think Mrs. Rice is amazing i love her work and she makes it seem so simple, but i've tried to tie dye and its hard especially to get the swirls right or to make hearts or the neat marks. I especially love the bags and the dresses she does. Love Stephanie Lacy her neighbor~

  7. I am lucky to be friends with Tina and she has very sweetly came and worked in my Special Needs classroom and done projects with my kids. Her classic Tina Tie Dye Tee's will always be my favorite. I see them and think back to my classroom and the smiles she brought to my kids faces.

My son's bright swirl shirt has been hanging in the laundry room for a week, I hesitate to move it because the colors brighten my day! For myself, I would pick the pink heart or the tie-dye cross shirts. Thank you for the giveaway...
