A Distressed little Birdie...

Hello yet again,

My project for my Sis-in-law came together so I thought I  would share. It's another use for those famous Dollar Tree Ceramic Birds! My husbands sister has her home done in cottage style decor, and she loves birds, so I put this little fellow lady on a nest of blue eggs for her.

I started out with these:

A Dollar Tree candle holder, a thrift store saucer and grapevine wreath.
The candle holder and the saucer got a coat of Krylon white primer and White gloss paint.

Then I took the famous Dollar Tree birdie and sprayed her with white primer. Next she got a coat of the craft paint in blue, followed up with  a light spray of gloss white. Then I distressed the poor little thing with some of my hubby's extra extra fine sandpaper.

I created the nest by  making a "bottom" out of honesysuckle vine and then hot gluing two kinds of moss and small peices of honeysuckle vine to the wreath. I used the same blue paint on some tiny eggs that were clearanced at Walmart. Finally, I glued everything to the pedestal and the distressed little birdie is now
happy in her new home!

Tomorrow, I'm going to take her to my Sis-in-law's. But tonight, I believe I'll let her visit these fun parties:

Good Night!
